Great Hotel with plenty of Latvian History both modern and back to the Soviet era! Breakfast did not start until 9am but we were able to get an early morning walk in before Breakfast. We are waiting for next years bookings to open up so we can book for another short break. The two-story room was great, very beautiful, spacious and getting a lot of sun. The hotel staff was amazing, very helpful and polite .

Miles and miles of fine sandy beaches with at least 100m of shallow seashore for paddling with children and swimming further out. Jurmala centre beach site is busy in summer but still has space for everyone with lovely beach cafes serving tasty snacks and cocktails. Therefore, it has a good beachfront and lots of cafes in the summer. It’s enjoyable if you’re lucky with the weather. Hotel staff are similarly, a hit-and-miss affair.

Overall this is a very cosy hotel with a gorgeous design and a great location . I definitely recommend it and I would love to come back one day. In Soviet times Jūrmala was popular with the Communist officials because of its beach and sanatoriums – holidays were also given as rewards for top union members. It became one of the most popular holiday destinations in the whole Union. The spas offered facilities from mud baths to riding therapy and hiking in the woods.
